  • October 15, 2018 Dear GES Families:I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Did anyone attend the NH Pumpkin Festival this past weekend?I want to thank all the supportive families we have here in Gilford!  I am overwhelmed by the generosity of so many volunteers. This past week I witnessed a number of volunteers helping in the art room for our Artist in Residence program, chaperoning our 4th grade hike up Mt. Major and carving pumpkins for the Pumpkin Festival. A special thanks to HPI for donating 200 pumpkins. Also, this past Saturday night several families attended the PTA fundraiser and gave generously to support all of our schools. We truly live in a special community.Here are some additional ways ...

One of our school goals this year is to continue to focus on writing instruction. Here are some ways to support your learner as a writer at home.Ways to support your child’s writing life:Ask your child to tell you stories, and help them structure the stories into a beginning, middle, and end format.   • October 1, 2018 Notification from: Gilford Elementary SchoolDear GES Families:We had our kick off to the Artist in Residence program last week. All our learners were able to meet Sammy the Snail. The Integrated Arts team will work throughout the month with Lesley Smith and the final performances will take place on October 26th. Important Events This Week: A reminder that we have an early release this Wednesday, October 3rd. All learners are dismissed at 1:00pm. This Friday, October 5th is PICTURE DAY!   • September 24, 2018 Dear GES Families: Gilford Elementary School is fortunate to host another Artist in Residence program this year and welcome Lesley Smith as our resident artist.  Lesley is a world-class ventriloquist, puppeteer and singer/songwriter who has decades of experience working in schools and with organizations to inspire and educate on critical life and social skills.   Through art, technology, music, storytelling and dance our learners will share their perspectives on “Loving Our Backyard.”  This residency will celebrate Gilford through the lens of history, culture, arts, environment, values and relationships.Over the next five weeks, GES learners will collaborate with the Integrated Arts team to create various representations of our own backyard and share these presentations at one of two performances ...

Please plan accordingly. PTA Membership Drive:The Gilford PTA has made it exceptionally easy for you to donate now!
