Dear GES Families:

I hope you all enjoyed the beautiful weather this weekend. Our family enjoyed getting lost in the corn maze today. I was sorry to miss the energy of the building on a showcase Friday.  I heard it was wonderful!

Last week I traveled to Columbia University for a Leadership Institute on the importance of reading and writing. One point of research I wanted to share was the direct correlation between academic success and access to a wide number of books in the home. The two most powerful factors for improving reading motivation and comprehension were a child’s access to many books and personal choice of what to read.  So keep those bookshelves full!

I am enclosing the School Board Budget work sessions for 2017. On Tuesday, October 24th, the elementary school budget will be presented at 5:30 in the SAU.
