Dear GES Families:

We will have a very short week this week due to the national holiday(MLK Day) on Monday and our Teacher Work Day on Friday. However, we will hand out a special book on Thursday as part of our One School, One Book program. Everyone in our school will be reading the same book for the next 5 weeks. The book remains a secret until Thursday!

Here’s How to Participate:

  1. Each family will receive one copy of the book on January 18th with a calendar indicating the suggested reading days.  In each family, the youngest school child will bring the book home. It is yours to keep.

  2. Weekly trivia questions and hands-on activities will be based on the week’s reading.  Learners with correct answers will be entered into the weekly drawing for a prize.

  3. The Volunteer Steering Committee will host a family fun event on Saturday, February 17th from 1-4PM tied to the book’s theme. Be sure to check it out!

  • Please do not allow your kid to climb on the snow banks in front of the school. They are very icy and we are trying to dismiss all children safely to their vehicles in a timely manner at the end of the day. Thanks for your help on this!

  • Spanish Classes: This week classes will take place on Wednesday (1/17) for grades 1 and 2 and Thursday (1/18) for grades 3 and 4.

  • Please see the Lakes Region Lacrosse flyer attached.

Have a wonderful week!
